THE POSITIVE:[/b]: Though she doesn't like to admit it, Kiyo loves sweets. She tries to limit herself to fruits, but if given the chance, she will indulge on sugary treats. She loves the outdoors and is constantly exploring, whether it be traveling on foot between cities or stopping to enjoy the scenery or climb a rock. Being a black belt, she has some sort of affection towards Fighting-type Pokémon, though in general she likes all Pokémon with some sort of physical, fighting attacks.
Kiyoko is a very focused person. She is able to stay concentrated on tasks even when distractions are all around her, tuning out all unimportant things. When it comes to improving either her own or her Pokémon's fighting skills, she can be very determined. Though she may be lacking in other areas, she definitely is a hard-working martial artist. She loves being in the outdoors to exercise, and often she can be found running around in meadows or climbing trees in forests and acting like a complete kid. She is full of life and vitality in her active moments, and languid in her passive ones.
Some may think of her as a kind of wild child for her untamed behaviour, and Kiyo actually does retain other kinds of childlike openness. For one, she's very inquisitive and doesn't like not knowing things. Her thoughts are constantly whirling around in her head, unless she's meditating, and her opinions change from day to day. She doesn't stick with one outlook just because she's told people her views and they expect her to believe one thing; instead, she refuses to be hindered by consistency and will change her mind if she doesn't see things in the same light anymore. She is always openly herself and doesn't understand the concept of changing one's behaviour around different people.
Kiyoko is also very truthful, which can either be good or bad. At times she can be rather tactless and end up being brutally honest. Still, telling the truth has made her a trustworthy person. People know she's not going to lie to them, or say something just because they want to hear it. On the other hand, she is good at keeping other people's secrets. She often acts as a confidante to others.
THE NEGATIVE:
For one thing, Kiyoko is a bit immature for her age due to the fact that she says how she feels and doesn't often think of the consequences of her words. She can be rather rash, which has led her to make mistakes in the past, and now she has a fear of making choices. She can be indecisive about the most insignificant things, besides her appearance or social status, which she doesn't really care about. Those tiny things would probably be something such as if she would like bagels or toast for breakfast. Because of her aversion to decision-making, Kiyo usually relies on others to make those choices for her.
This fear has lead Kiyoko to shirk responsibilities. She is easily stressed out at the thought of people relying or depending on her, and for this reason, she rarely makes commitments or takes a leading role in things. Though trustworthy, she is definitely not reliable. She prefers a stressless life and so strives for physical and mental health, which results in her seeming a bit lazy. Of course, she's hardworking when it comes to training, but in other matters she's quite listless. Oftentimes one can see her laying in a patch of grass and drowsily watching the clouds in the middle of the day. She hates chores and is very disorganised. She tends to have a lack of effort in anything that doesn't interest her.
Kiyoko is also an extremely picky person. She's very fastidious about some things such as the personality of her friends and the flavour of the foods she eats. In some cases she can seem surprisingly adamant about what she likes or dislikes and will shake off her fear of making choices to pick the parts of her life that she likes. Each person she meets is subject to her scrutiny, and she comes to quick decisions when it's a matter of the people she likes or dislikes. It's usually the less relevant things in life that make her unsure and indecisive. People, Pokémon, and food are the three things she's certsain about.
DISLIKES: People who are falsely sweet and cheerful irritate her. Actually, anyone with some false front annoys her. Kiyoko can be picky about who she picks as her friends, and she has an aversion to very feminine girls or boys who are too full of themselves. Some people just rub her the wrong way. She dislikes missing sleep or food because it makes her irritable. It gets on her nerves when she's poked, prodded, or touched for no reason. She absolutely hates losing.
HOBBIES: A hobby is a weak word for Kiyo's fighting passion. She trains hard and relentlessly, though when it comes to a matter of her own Pokémon's battling, she's a bit less pushy and more protective. She also has a knack for whittling, and it has become one of her more passive pastimes. She's learned to make a reed flute, which she enjoys playing short tunes on. In her free time, she also enjoys writing short poems. She's not an overly artistic person, but she does have creativity.
FEARS: Pokémon with more than six limbs freak her out, which is why she never bothered to catch a Machop; she couldn't stand the idea of it evolving into a Machamp. She has a fear of facing responsibility and the pressures that other people would put on her shoulders, causing her to decline all leadership roles. She's also scared of lots of blood. It may seem surprising, since she's a fighter, but in reality she isn't used to gore, since martial arts don't really involve that.
