NICKNAMES: jeeves. it's a pun, really, and has derived itself from the phrase ' ask jeeves ', thus companions have often deemed the blonde as " jeeves " to avoid confusion and to avoid pronouncing ask as ' ass ' (which a few have intentionally said with the lad's occasional jerk-like attitude: " don't be such an ass, ask ", they'd say). although he has plenty of other nicknames clinging to his sleeves, he would much prefer people to simply label him as ' ask ' since its a label he can easily recognize and respond to as his own as opposed to say, ' punk '. AGE: eighteen. -- going on nineteen, might i add. since the age of ten, the youth was a typical trainer whose aim was to see all types of pokémon in the wild, and hopefully, to befriend some. he didn't aspire to be a master. he loved pokémon, and it was as simple as that; it was enough to get him out of the house into an adventure with his trusty starter—he wanted to challenge himself. it wasn't until he was near seventeen or so had he discovered his parents' affiliation with team rocket and the stream of wealth that came from the line of dirty work (which was also the reason for the leingod's upper-class conditions). upon the revealing case, his guardians dragged ask into the team: " don't you care at all for your brother? he needs you to do this. " GENDER: male. SEXUALITY: asexual. to some, his actions and words may be interpreted as flirty, but anyone who knows him well enough would detect a lack of genuine commitment and interest on his part of the equation; he's simply a little more than friendly—which tends to rub folks the wrong way, apparently. attraction to either of genders are absent, and even when ask does present an infatuation, it would be an act to rile the victim. TRAINER CLASS: team rocket grunt. however, he commonly wanders the region as an ordinary trainer to avoid the suspicions of close family friends as well as his younger brother, chronos. while he holds the low position of a ' grunt ', ask doesn't dabble much on the crimes of theft and other atrocious deeds since his specialty lies mostly on the form of investigation (unless called forth by an upper ranker). as an informant, picking up gossip and pieces of information is an area he does well in with his ability to act in situations and blend with people. THE POSITIVE: everyone needs a teaspoon of optimism to get through life, especially the kind of life that's polluted with crimes. moping around annoys ask to no end when something could be done during a wasted time; his mantra? ' live life to the fullest and kick pessimism in the face if it comes to bite '. though ask generally sports a cheerful mindset, he doesn't always smack a smile on his face twenty-four seven. because his duties as a rocket are his first priority, a serious mindset is a common feature worn on his person (or, at least, outside the range of friends). nothing but jolly words and upbeat phrases pour to lift a sour mood. correction: nothing but jolly tones and upbeat attitudes protrude. that is, he may and can sound happy when he'd be spewing sarcasm and hurtful sentences. regardless, it's nearly impossible to get him down in the dumps. tears are for wimps, and he'd undoubtedly do anything ridiculous to earn a laugh or a smile.

friendliness is in his nature, and though he has his ups and downs in coming off a little too assertive at times, ask's actions mean well. extroverted, befriending people is a hobby of his as well as gaining ' connections ' here and there. not one to sell himself short or alter his personality to suit the tastes of individuals, the leingod's what one would expect from a typical friend; he'd joke, annoy, and, well, be himself, which really isn't all that complicated as most would believe. what he shows is what he feels, what he says is what he means. a simpleton when it comes to emotions, ask is what would be identified as flexible and free—that's what makes him particularly amiable, if not, trustworthy. screw the ' lone wolf ' facade that has been said to make girls swoon right and left. he's a team player, and a good one at that. despite his carefree persona and how lightly he speaks of uncomfortable topics, ask truly does regard most subjects in a serious light. he prioritizes his tasks and the problems that go in hand with it; likewise, he safeguards promises as an extension of himself: any secret kept with him is a secret and assures that it would be followed in a hush-hush manner into his grave. responsible isn't what people would consider him as, but he certainly is under the midst of jokes and seeming lack of depth.

if there's one person who'd gladly give hugs and listen to any concerns, that would be ask. he's a conversationist, but most would know the key to becoming a skilled communicator would be the act to demonstrate a keen listening ability. important individuals are ones he desperately yearns to protect, and if he has to pretend that everything would be fine, he would for the sake of pacifying tension. as an older sibling himself, ask has developed a brotherly instinct to care for close acquaintances, even if he doesn't display it outright. his need to keep peace has had him sacrificing many opportunities; his firm urge to keep a strong, bright front has had him develop a bitter, almost exhausted character beneath; and his continuance of weaving lies has made him feel even more disconnected from truths. sensitive to the emotions of others, ask has a perceptive eye in detecting who he annoys and who likes who. constantly blanketing his sights and sounds with nothing but people, the blue-eyed lad has scaled the ladder of social mobility, enough for him to sharpen his nails to press and push for certain reactions in folks.

THE NEGATIVE: revealing his positive traits so openly has also given some obvious pointers to the negatives. where ask flags an optimistic view by cracking silly gestures and talking without end, he may also seem obnoxious, going as far as to invade space and to pin his index fingers onto the corner of peoples' lips to force a smile. his abrasive exterior has deterred many, especially the more silent and anti-social—he would gladly push the timid types of the populace on stage to ' help ' them gain friends and exposure, and would intentionally put most and any as the center of attention. perhaps a handful have vowed vengeance against his humiliating notions, but really, ask secretly gets a kick out of watching people squirm. he's absolutely no sadist, mind you, but finds amusement in the oddest of responses. he's a joker. he's an asshole. take your pick. either way, the blonde is a cynical prick, and it's a side he constantly fends off in place of a thoughtful exterior. mr. nice guy? as if. while bright and lively in most occasions, one could find themselves stumbling into a venomous wall that is ask's tongue. getting comfortable with his goofy, outgoing visage is silly. yet, it happens—and one would find themselves questioning his intentions and doubting his sincerity.

if you don't have the heart to use people as pawns, you would be out of the game by the first round—that's something the blonde learned upon being branded as a rocket; the mentally weak wouldn't last. laughing with companions, talking to family, watching the normalcy of lives in cities—it would be right to say he had, in some occasions, forgotten his duties and the consequences that may follow for becoming too attached to one thing or another, but certainly, he would never forget to play pretend, either with his own kin or familiars. manipulative, people are embedded as mere sacks of flesh in his mind, pieces to toss and toy with, and are very much subjected to false honey-dipped phrases. ask may be outwardly honest with his emotions; however, consciously—not quite. he doesn't translate his exact thought process for folks to listen to. he would say one thing and think about another, perhaps on how to retrieve an answer or response he would be meaning to chase after; it's one calculation to the next. for success and to dodge any chances of failure, the eighteen year-old honed his heart to stop second-guessing his actions; he shaped it to be harder, to be cold.

ask doesn't always listen to what others have to say, neither would he pay a cent to involve himself in an argument. he puts his own best interest at heart. with the methods he uses in handling affairs, one would consider him abnormal, in a sense—almost twisted, for lack of better terms, for he is perceived to be confusing and random at best. as have been said, ' nice ' isn't a description anyone would want to fix on him as a permanent trait; he would put a handful into hell and back, mostly for the fun and thrill of it. he would embarrass comrades, perhaps slap humiliation to top it, and would hide it under the guise of " oh, c' mon, that was just a joke ". a playful attitude and approach to such shouldn't be confused with him acting as a joker; he's merely devious—and this component of his character has had a few innocent antics head into the extremes.

DISLIKES: people who can't take humor, arguments, stepping on gum, stumbling into beedrill nests, boring speeches, useless plans, the general assumption that each member in team rocket is bad, pistachios, those who dictate what he should think, feeling tired and grumpy, reading thick books, judgmental individuals, the ' rocket ' in team rocket since it sounds cheesy, wasting money, lying, lack of sleep, anyone who noses into his business, the extreme cold and heat, unfashionable articles of clothing and accessories.
HOBBIES: taking candid pictures of pokémon in their natural habitat, gambling by card games and tricks, painting whenever free time is given, partaking in community festivals and events, gathering pieces of information and confirming whether rumors are true, and if necessary, acting (which he tends to do a lot around friends).
FEARS: the only reason ask has in doing what he does is simple: to protect chronos. ever since youth, the topic of money has always been emphasized; wealth was important to give chronos luxury, and more importantly, the well-being of his body. though he didn't like the extra attention given to his kin, ask couldn't help but grow fond when resentment grew for his guardians—there were little things the brunette did for ask that made him appreciative, things that his parents rarely ever did. if hurting chronos was an option to escape team rocket, ask wouldn't approve. he only accepted into joining the faction to keep chronos in the security of luxury. if there's one thing the blonde wouldn't want, it's to be useless. worthless.

[/b]: eight years—that was how long quest has been by ask's side since adoption at elm's lab—and as ask's first pokémon and closest companion, question was an equivalent to a second brother. the fire-based creature has always had a tough character to it, refusing to lose or disappoint its owner and the expectations burdened upon it. while largely amicable, it doesn't always agree with ask's decisions, such as becoming a recruit of team rocket, but it obeyed, nevertheless, and understood ask's reasons for doing so. a partner and best friend, the blonde keeper has devoted much time with it in his beginnings as a trainer before snagging his second pokémon.[/ul]


NICKNAME: asterisk (ampharos ♂).
LEVEL: forty-seven.
MOVESET: thunderbolt, rock climb, signal beam, power gem.

[/b]: asterisk is given the honor as ask's first capture; it had seemed easy enough at the time when it had been a wee mareep—however, it gave ask a bit of trouble with its mischievous manners in dodging balls and blending into tall grasses. while he could have settled for a mere ratatta, ask had other things in mind: mareep's soft wool and capabilities in becoming a portable, walking pillow... or not. he just didn't like giving up, so question and him formed a trap, cornering the fluff-ball into a battle. eventually, ask caught it. it has since been a reliable companion, minus its tendency to encourage ask's other pokémon to play into pranks. [/ul]


NICKNAME: period (vileplume ♀).
LEVEL: forty-five.
MOVESET: energy ball, solar beam, sunny day, sludge bomb.

[/b]: originally, ask had a sunflora, one that he had raised as a sunkern before it evolved; there were no initial problems with the pokémon, but it was prone to guilt, especially with ask's alliance with the rockets, and because it refused to cooperate, he had no choice but to trade it for a rowdy gloom whose owner had trouble controlling. sunflora's ashamed feelings were affecting him, and he didn't want that. although he did think the vileplume (after given the leaf stone) was in need of an anger management course or two, it became a surprisingly essential support in double battles—well, long as it wasn't partnered with a pokémon it didn't like.[/ul]


NICKNAME: blackberry (haunter ♀).
LEVEL: forty-five.
MOVESET: psychic, sludge bomb, dark pulse, shadow ball.

[/b]: at one point, some rockets began questioning ask's loyalty and found his overall personality to be lacking in the sinister department; ask, obviously, defended that there was nothing wrong with his behavior—this prompted a wager to steal a pokémon from an unknowing trainer to prove his allegiance. haunter was the product. it didn't seem angered nor did it have the intention to flee or attack—in fact, the ghostly organism was amused by the circumstance. unlike the other pokémon who may oppose team rocket's ideals, blackberry appeared to be in on the ride for the entertainment. if anything, blackberry's a spectator to ask's shenanigans.[/ul]


NICKNAME: peppermint (delibird ♂).
LEVEL: forty-three.
MOVESET: fly, defog, ice beam, water pulse.

[/b]: the butt of the group, delibird was a pokémon given to him by a rocket member when he had first joined; they figured that maybe ask could pester other rockets into repaying their debts (with delibird carrying the cash for convenience) since it would be a decent, somewhat easy job to start off as. of course, running around whilst searching for folks in debt was not his thing, and gradually, he switched into investigation. its original owner never expressed interest into taking it back, so it has been in ask's selection as a permanent ally. generally, pepper, having been perceived as useless in the past with its various trainers, has grown into a pushover of sorts, hence the " butt of the group "—and ask, one to become frustrated with wimpy partners, often throws it into random ' tests of courage '.[/ul]


NICKNAME: dash (granbull ♀).
LEVEL: forty-one.
MOVESET: crunch, earthquake, body slam, reflect.

[/b]: a neighbor's granbull had a litter of snubbulls, many of them having been barely hatched—and of course, ask couldn't refuse an invitation to adopt one when he had the chance. as a shy creature, the pink blob wasn't at all good with communicating through words, thus spoke through biting, and had often clamped its jaws on ask's limbs. it didn't help when asterisk, who was a flaffy at the time, made fun of its perpetually grumpy-appearing face; it frequently ran away in tears and inconvenienced ask as a trainer when he had to run after it before scolding the naughty flaffy. after a number of mind-numbing obstacles, dash evolved into a granbull, and albeit it gained confidence with its larger image, it still seems sensitive enough to bawl; however, if ask ever fails to remember something, it never fails to give him a bite of a reminder.[/ul]
