▌FRIENDS

It's not that hard to get along with Mathias, really; he's a friendly sort of guy, and certainly not picky himself about who he's introduced to. A few really close friends for sure. Once he feels he's got a good judge of someone, though, he lets his more carefree wild side loose: joking, bantering, playful shoulder-punches or flicks now and then. It's all in good fun, although he can sometimes get a little overbearing for some people without meaning to. Sensitive, seclusive, or not-so-touchy people might not be the best match for him, but he can usually tell that too [he's actually got a knack for perceptiveness]. Of course, he prefers the kind of folk who feel as if they don't need to know every little thing about someone to be close to them, so anyone too nosy or insisting about the-childhood-he-will-not-speak-of might not be someone he'd be real at ease around.

▌ENEMIES

One thing that someone like him probably wouldn't have a lot of. Maybe a few rivals, and then the people who just manage to piss him off. It'd probably be the bully kind of person or something similar: inconsiderate or insincere, too rude or snappy, etc. Bad morals are something that can really get on Mathias's nerves because his own opinions are quite strong; although the other person would probably not be open for any compromises, because that would just irk him even more. He'd also quickly think an enemy of anyone who act hostilely to or try to assault anything whether it be person or pokemon, when of which Mathias wouldn't hesitate to brashly run in and stop it, regardless of himself. If he ever did find a good rival they'd probably clash quite a bit due to his openly vocalized characteristic, so there might be some fun to be had there.

▌LOVES
I discovered that my castles stand

Even though Mathias is seventeen and a rather flexible-seeming kind of guy, he's never dated before. Probably because he has a bit of a difficulty trusting anyone enough to let them get too close [although you might not even be able to tell he was hesitating]. The girl for him would be someone who'd get along with him quite well, obviously, but would be able to sense the mood enough to know when it's fine to start a game of bantering and when it's better to leave him to his own thoughts. Of course, that doesn't necessarily have to be the case, because he never could resist a bit of a challenge. Like with any really close friends, he'd prefer somebody who didn't feel as if they had to know every single thing about him to be completely satisfied; as far as he's concerned, that shows a certain lack of trust. Mathias wouldn't be all gung-ho about a relationship, either. It'd be thought over quite a bit before he ever agreed to anything. Nonetheless, the option is open to anyone enough patience to get through to him. :3

▌OTHER

On a little side note, Mathias is actually from abroad, although he's never told anybody quite where exactly he grew up [he ran away from home before become a trainer]. So he probably wouldn't have any family or childhood friends to speak of that he'd run into. Other than that, if you've got any ideas then feel free to share~!

_{TRAVELING BUDDIES!? So, first off, I'd like to mention how their views of romance and relationships are quite similar - not letting anyone too close because they don't trust them. Though for Ashton, it's also because she doesn't believe in love, but that's another story. I'm thinking they've been traveling together since the beginning, and are rather great friends. He's adorable, and Ash'll probably treat him in a 'he's mine' kind of way (as a friend, of course). I can definitely see these two joking around a lot, and maybe even getting into some trouble ~! I'll definitely start a thread soon, unless you'd like to start one first ?}
