THE POSITIVE: and here he comes, the big man himself, walking right down the road. the what's the first thing to see about him? well, a standout feature is how he carries himself: clearly confident, cocky, and even playful. matt has always been certainly a standout guy by attitude, which is usually quite positive and showing well that joker side of him. but he is a guy after all, a teenager with lots of youthful spirit that comes off as quite a bit of energy. he's also rather straightforward in his ways, not afraid to speak up and often not thinking of the consequences before doing so. similarly, he can end up being a little louder than he means to, or perhaps playing a little rougher -- but anyone who knows him understands that's its all in good fun. on the other end of the spectrum, though, he knows how to be serious even when he's not acting it, like a double-sided cassette that nobody bothers to inspect side b of. it probably stems from his childhood. matt definitely knows how to hold responsibility and bear it well even if it may not seem so, and the blond never ceases to let others down [whether it be in that specific department, or anywhere else]. he's definetly got a more level-headed personality than he tends to let show. on another note, he's quite perceptive, and finds himself usually keen to the atmosphere when it seems off compared to what it would normally be.

THE NEGATIVE: but every character has his faults, right? no exceptions here. as entergatic as mathias is, sometimes he can be a but overbearing with it, therefore coming across more as obnoxious or annoying than what the friendly banter is supposed to. he's also pretty guillible too, though you might not expect it from a guy like him [unless he knows you well enough, then he won't so easily fall for things]. the wild-haired teen is also rather headstrong and brash and doesn't always consider the consequences before he acts. when it comes to his own self and well-being, he completely ignores his own condition in favor of everyone else's; while it shows selflessness, it also gives off the notion that he doesn't value his own health all that much. in fact, in terms of health he won't admit to sickness or anything of the sort until someone forces him to rest and recuperate. when asked about himself, he'll often try to avoid topics and therefore hardly anyone knows much about him before he showed up in johto, but he doesn't really see [or won't admit] why that should matter to anyone anyway.

[/b]: mathias's starter pokemon, and therefore his longest companion. skyde is a gung-ho kind of pokemon, although he'd rather foolish about how far he'll go when he feels the impulse. that said, he doesn't hold back either.[/ul]

MOVESET: bonemerang - strength - earthquake - focus energy.

[/b]: she's quite the sly and cunning character, to be put simply. she's fairly level-headed unless provoked, when of which she's not someone you want to cross paths. besides that, though, her intentions are usually good.[/ul]


NICKNAME: haj.
LEVEL: forty-five.
MOVESET: surf - aqua tail - hydro pump - rain dance.

[/b]: although you wouldn't expect it of such a large and intimidating pokemon, haj is quite shy. outside of battle he's extremely passive, and tends to try to keep to himself.[/ul]


NICKNAME: asyl.
LEVEL: forty-two.
MOVESET: rollout - stone edge - sludge bomb - return.

[/b]: despite the fact that shuckles are usually all defense [and that's about it], asyl has quite the spunk and determination, once or twice even pushing herself a little farther. but she's pretty cocky sicne she can withstand quite a bit, so when she does get hurt she's not too good at taking it silently.[/ul]


NICKNAME: barn.
LEVEL: forty.
MOVESET: swift - facade - thunderbolt - double team.

[/b]: definitely the most playful and energetic of mathias' pokemon, barn has quite a few tricks up her sleeve that usually pull of a smile on the victim. she tends to be a handful, though, with all that enthusiasm of hers.[/ul]


NICKNAME: eric.
LEVEL: thirty-two.
MOVESET: will-o-wisp - flame burst - quick attack - flamethrower

[/b]: the baby of the group, both by level and by attitude. mathias tends to spoil him, although perhaps that's also because the vulpix was named after his trainer's younger brother. eric is the newest addition to the team of six, and he's currently in the process of being leveled up.[/ul]
