independant - adventurous - poker face - friendlyCaring, Maylea always looks out for the wellbeing of her pokémon, putting their needs first and making sure to care for them properly and correctly. She loves them after all and wants them to have the best life possible with her, so she makes sure to look after them properly. She’s also caring towards those that she deems friends, even though she doesn’t get too emotionally close to them, she cares for their wellbeing as well and will do her best to help her friends when they want it or comfort them when they need someone. Despite the fact that she’s more nervous and untrusting ever since she left Team Rocket, she’s far happier and it shows in her willingness to make friends and relationships with those in the city she lives in because of her gym leader duties and in the way she smiles. Even though she doesn't talk a lot, she isn't afraid to continue a conversation if someone starts one, though she is rather hesitant at times because she's nervous they may ask awkward questions or something bad would be brought up.
Thanks to her fierce determination, she managed to summon the courage to leave Team Rocket only a few months after the new leader had risen to commandment of the organisation. Her sheer determination also gave her the strength to cut her hair to give herself a new appearance, as well as help her go for her goal of trying to become a gym leader. In short, she’s a determined girl who wouldn’t stop at anything to reach her dreams and goals, even if it took years or weeks, she still wouldn’t give up. Independent, Maylea has become a young woman who doesn’t need to depend on others to go through her everyday life, her independence is something she’s proud of because she isn’t chained to anyone and she enjoys the fact that she doesn’t have to listen to anyone.
After years of working for Team Rocket, she’s learned to control her emotions or at least keep her facial expressions under wraps. Therefore when she doesn’t want someone to know how she’s feeling, she can simply put on a practiced poker face which would mask what she is feeling. She's also rather intelligent and often comes up with little strategies and ideas in her head, should it be for battles or just planning on what she wants to do today, she certainly isn't stupid and has some brains on her side.
Adventurous, Maylea is one of those people who wouldn’t turn down anything is she hasn’t tried it once. You’ll never hear her saying that she hates a certain food but hasn’t tried it, or saying she hates doing something though she hasn’t actually done it. She’s completely up for doing new things and gaining new experiences, she also loves travelling and exploring, not liking to stay staring at the same buildings for too long considering he feels confined, something she doesn’t want to feel. So very often Maylea will leave her gym for a day or two, or a weekend to visit other places to relieve her longing for adventure.
THE NEGATIVE:

proud - competitive - secretive - independantThough it takes a while for Maylea to become angered, once someone does push her buttons hard enough, you’ll instantly wish you hadn’t because when pushed over her limit, she becomes almost like what she used to be back when she was in Team Rocket. In this state of mind she is a dangerous soul, who wouldn’t hesitate to fight back with malicious words with a cool sharp tongue and attack with her pokémon or not. Funnily enough when she is to this state of mind she doesn’t actually appear angry, unless you look closely in her eyes, otherwise she looks calm and appears to be smiling.. but that grin is filled with venomous intent to hurt and destroy, almost to the point of being crazy. The only time when she actually appears angry, shouting and screaming, is when she’s frustrated and overly emotional.
Independent and stubborn, she hates letting others do things for her and she dislikes admitting when she needs some assistance. Ever since leaving her rocket life behind, she pledged to become an independent and strong young woman who could stand on her own two feet. It’s her foolish stupid pride which makes her refuse help from others, despite their good intentions and despite the fact she may need their help. If she doesn’t want you to help or doesn’t want someone to tell her otherwise, she can be a rather stubborn soul who wouldn’t drop something just because someone else told her to do it. She hates following other peoples orders and would make a point to ignore someone completely if they attempted to boss her around.
When it comes to her past life, Maylea is a secretive person who wouldn’t tell a soul about what she once was in fear that she would be stripped of her position of a gym leader and be thrown out as an outcast and traitor. Therefore her lips are firmly kept shut about anything that concerns her life before become a gym leader. When someone does ask her and she finds no way out of it, then she’ll always lie. She feels like she lies just as much as she used to back in the day and fortunately, she’s rather good at it from years of practice. She isn’t afraid to brew up a little story if it would get her out of a sticky situation, preferring to lie her way through something which made her uncomfortable rather than tell the truth.
Around others, Maylea is rather reserved despite her desire to get to know others and make good friends. She doesn’t allow herself to get seriously close to anyone and has a little bit of a hard time trusting someone one hundred percent, always being cautious and wary around those new people, after all who knows who they’re loyal to and who knows what they are really thinking. She’d rather not risk the possibility of having her secret found out or having close friends who could be hurt because of her past.
Competitive, when it comes to battles or just about any competition, she can be a bit on the 'I’m going to win!' side and she'd do anything she can to remain at the top, as long as it kept to the rules of course. Sometimes she can let her competitive nature get the best of her when in battle, though she always tries to remain calm when in an official gym battle, considering she wants to make a good example.
